CT&V installed 1,400’ steel liners in two mine shafts in Southern Saskatchewan. Both mine shafts were installed concurrently and were strategically located in water bearing zones. Concrete pouring and blasting cycles made maintaining the construction schedule critical to the success of the project. Our team had the opportunity to develop innovative technology and solutions to overcome numerous challenges due to the ever-changing conditions underground. By accepting this project, our team was required to successfully implement an entirely new and improved safety program. The additional hazards from being underground required extensive training and education, as well as a comprehensive hazard recognition and mitigation program. Our team effectively maintained an excellent safety record throughout the duration of this project which started in the summer of 2014 and ended in 2017.
